那我們現在進入正題了。

如果要談近三十年的流行時尚，與台灣臨近的幾個國家當中，我想就屬日本及南韓對台灣的影響最深了。那我就以我現在居住的城市「台北」為例。台北在台灣的都市當中，由於是首都的關係，的確比較具有 [4]指標性。從日劇在90年代初期開始被引進台灣，台北的街頭就慢慢可以到處見得到日本流行文化的蹤跡，而到了2000年左右，韓劇也是以同樣的 [5]模式 進了台灣，於是這些日星、韓星的 [6]穿搭，就成了青少年 [7]模仿 的對象，而這些追求流行的年輕人身上就反映著台北的街頭時尚。

另外，互聯網也在同一個時期開始，也就是2000年前後，在台灣逐漸普及。當時部落格盛行，部落客們 [8]紛紛 在網路上分享他們自己的 [9]日常 穿搭，人們開始仿效雜誌模特兒的穿著，也參考流行歌手和影星的穿衣風格。這個時期的特色包含了豐富閃亮的色彩，搭配露出腹部的緊身短版上衣、寬版褲、低腰牛仔褲、以及多層次的 [10]配件。這樣的打扮聽起來是不是很熟悉呢？

在上一集的聽力練習當中Mai-san提到，今年秋冬將會全球性地持續走Y2K千禧懷舊風潮。這讓我想到，那個年代的女性流行教主，例如小甜甜布蘭妮和艾薇兒，而今年不管台灣還是其他國家，街頭年輕人的穿搭彷彿就是在向當年這些時尚圈的偶像 [11]致敬。有人說，流行總是會 [12]遵循 20年一個循環的規律，那麼，Y2K時尚風會在近幾年持續回歸似乎也不那麼奇怪了。

不過其實在2000年到2022年這20年期間，同一時間也有一股反動的風潮。換句話說，在街上可以看到的不止是 [13]大膽 多變、色彩鮮豔的服裝，還有象徵著極簡風格的單一色調穿著。所以可以 [14]想見，在即將進入後 [15]疫情 時代的台北街頭，應該會有一群年輕人，等不及要踏出家門，展現多元的穿搭風格吧！

When it comes to talking about fashion here in Taiwan over the past thirty years, I believe that Japan and South Korea have had the most impact on us. Take Taipei, the city where I live right now. Being the capital of Taiwan, it is indeed an indicator of mainstream fashion. Since Japanese dramas were first introduced to Taiwan in the early 1990s, one could spot traces of Japanese pop culture everywhere on the streets of Taipei. Then in the early 2000s, Korean dramas entered the Taiwanese market in the same pattern. Young people then began to imitate the style of Japanese and Korean TV stars, which, in turn, reflected the street fashion of Taipei.

In addition, the Internet also began to thrive just a few years before 2000 and gradually became prevalent among Taiwanese people. Blogging was in vogue at the time, with bloggers sharing their “outfit of the day” online. People began mimicking the style of fashion magazine models, pop singers, and movie stars. The fashion during this period featured vibrant colors with crop tops, culottes pants or baggy pants, low-rise jeans, and layering with accessories. Do these looks sound familiar to you?

In the last listening practice episode, Mai-san mentioned the global fashion for this fall/winter 2022 still follows the Y2K nostalgic trend. This reminds me of some female icons of that era, such as Britney Spears and Avril Lavigne. And this year, both seen in Taiwan and abroad, the outfits of youngsters on the streets seem to pay homage to these fashion icons. Some say that fashion always follows a 20-year cycle, which probably explains the constant revival of the Y2K fashion in recent years.

But during the two decades from the year 2000 to 2022, there was actually a resurgent counterpart of the Y2K fashion. In other words, not only did we see bold, versatile, and bright-colored outfits trending but we also had monochromatic wear, symbolizing minimalism. Now we’re about to enter the post-Covid-19 era. It’s not hard to imagine that soon, on the streets of Taipei, there will be a group of young people who can’t wait to step out of their houses to showcase some mix-and-match dressing styles!
